Dundee Institute for Healthcare Simulation (DIHS) University of Dundee

Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom

The University of Dundee has had a reputation for providing high-quality simulated clinical activity for the last two decades. In an exciting new development, they have brought together two centres within the organisation to create the Dundee Institute for Healthcare Simulation (DIHS). The DIHS capitalises on the expertise of NHS Tayside, and support of industrial partners including Medtronic plc and Karl Storz GmBH to create a facility that delivers a wide range of high-quality simulated clinical activity that is diverse both in terms of stage of learning and professional scope.

Current activity within the DIHS spans healthcare practice, and includes all aspects of healthcare provision including procedural, surgical, communication and non-technical skills. Significant recent advances have been made in developing cadaveric models for image-guided therapies, and developing national programmes for clinical and communication skills.
