Dr. Fernando Gomez Sancha

Fernando Gómez Sancha is the Head of the Department of Urology and Robotic Surgery at ICUA - Clinica CEMTRO in Madrid, Spain, where he specializes in laser prostatectomy with GreenLight and Holmium lasers and robotic radical prostatectomy, in collaboration with Dr. Richard Gaston. He also works at the Hill Clinic (Sofia, Bulgaria), where he performs laser prostatectomy. He was an early adopter of the GreenLight laser, and has trained surgeons to use it in hundreds of hospitals around the world. He founded the IGLU (International GreenLight Users Group) and developed the Green laser En-bloc enucleation of the prostate technique, which he now also uses for Holmium enucleation of the prostate, as well as the anatomic vaporization technique. He specialized in Urology at the Hospital de la Princesa in Madrid, Spain. Then he subspecialized in reconstructive urology at the Institute of Urology, London, UK with Prof. A. R. Mundy. He returned to Madrid where he developed an interest in minimally invasive prostate surgery.
