Description:
Diabulimia Helpline! Founded in 2009, we're the world's first 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to education, support, and advocacy for diabetics with eating disorders, and their loved ones. We have a 24 hour hotline available via (425) 985-3635, an insurance specialist to walk clients or their loved ones through the complicated world of insurance coverage, and a referral service to help people find the right treatment center, doctor, and/or therapist that will be the right fit on the road to recovery.

Diabulimia is an eating disorder where one purposefully manipulates or withholds insulin in order to lose weight. You'll also see the term 'ED-DMT1' around our site, it stands for Eating Disorder-Diabetes Mellitus Type 1; it refers to any Type 1 Diabetic that also suffers from an eating disorder. Research suggests that over 30 percent of diabetic women between the ages of 15 and 30 engage in insulin omission to some degree. Studies show that Type 1 diabetics are two and a half times more likely to develop an eating disorder than other women.
