Founded in 1979, the Denver PTC provides innovative training, consultation and information to healthcare professionals and their organizations.

The Denver PTC has the unique advantage of being a program within a public health department (Denver Public Health) that resides within a large comprehensive healthcare system (Denver Health and Hospital Authority). We operate in partnership with the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Health with whom we share an interdisciplinary staff and faculty.

The Denver Prevention Training Center's mission is to build the capacity of health professionals through innovative training, consultation, and technical assistance. The Denver Prevention Training Center (PTC) is a program of Denver Public Health, a department of Denver Health and Hospital Authority, and provides training throughout a multi-state region on clinical management of STDs and is a national capacity building assistance provider assisting healthcare organizations to integrate and enhance their high impact HIV prevention activities through a variety of evidence-based interventions, along with core courses and technical assistance to improve basic skills, organizational capacity, and improve the quality of services delivered in practice settings. The Denver PTC is also a partner in the Patient Navigation Training Collaborative.
