Croatian Psychiatric Society / Hrvatsko psihijatrijsko drustvo (HPD)

The Croatian Psychiatric Society is a member of the World Psychiatric Society and a non-profit non-governmental organization in which psychiatrists and other professionals and non-professional volunteers who work or want to work in the field of protection and improvement of mental health in the Republic of Croatia voluntarily join to achieve common goals and tasks. The Company has the status of a legal entity, and the work of the Company is public and determined by the provisions of the Company's Articles of Association. He is represented by the President and Vice President of the Society. The company may associate with other associations for the better fulfillment of its goals and activities.

The main goals and activities of the Company are:
• Work on continuous professional and scientific training of its members, organization of professional and scientific meetings and congresses, seminars, lectures, training courses
• Active cooperation with related scientific, teaching and health organizations for the purpose of the most successful work in the professional and scientific field
• Representation of the psychiatric profession in professional and scientific bodies of the Croatian Medical Association and development of permanent cooperation with other professional societies in areas of common interest
• Cooperation with professional and scientific societies in the Republic of Croatia and abroad
• Continuous monitoring of the mental health of the population
• The struggle to ensure adequate working conditions and the application of the organization of psychiatric care in the Republic of Croatia
• Care for the improvement of the conditions of treatment and life of the mentally ill, raising the level of awareness of the society for better acceptance and treatment of the mentally ill and their care
• Organization of the Congress of Croatian Psychiatrists every 4 years
• Publishing the Company's Bulletin, magazines and other publications
• Constantly developing and nurturing the principles of medical ethics among its members
• In cooperation with the Medical Chamber, supervising the professional work of its members and taking measures to protect the professionalism of its members and protect patients
