Concentra Occupational Health Research Institute (COHRI)

Concentra Occupational Health Research Institute (COHRI)

Addison, Texas, United States of America

The mission of the Concentra Occupational Health Research Institute (COHRI) is to

• Promote the health of America's workers through scientific research and continuing medical education
• Provide and approve evidence-based occupational medicine courses

Historically, little funding has been directed to the field of occupational and preventive medicine research. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has traditionally served as the primary funding agency for occupational health research, but research grants from this organization have been consistently small. Likewise, few medical schools have devoted substantial resources to occupational health research.

COHRI was established in 2000 to fill this void. The Institute is an independent entity that has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as being exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Therefore, contributions to COHRI are tax deductible as allowed by law.
