Lansing, Michigan, United States of America

The Community Mental Health Association of Michigan (CMHAM) is the state association representing the state’s public Community Mental Health (CMH) centers, the public Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans (PIHP) public health plans formed and governed by the CMH centers) and the providers within the CMH and PIHP provider networks.

Mission: The Community Mental Health Association of Michigan supports its membership by informing, educating, and advocating for mental health, emotional disturbance, intellectual and developmental disability, and substance use disorder services by strengthening collaboration with persons served, community, partners, and government.

History: On behalf of CMHA’s Board of Directors, we want to thank all of the CMHA members, including the CMHs and provider organizations and their boards, staff, and the consumers and families they serve, for their contributions and advocacy on behalf of the state’s publicly funded mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services system. During this period of transformative changes, such contributions and advocacy will continue to be the critical element of our work to ensure that these changes improve the quality of life and the outcomes for the individuals and families served by the public system of care.
