Colombian Society of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery / sociedad colombiana de cardiologia & cirugia cardiovascular (SCC)

Mission:
Consolidate an organization of health and related professionals in the cardiovascular area, of high human and scientific qualities, committed to guaranteeing permanent excellence, through continuous, updated, quality and sustainable medical education. This should be aimed at specialist doctors, primary care doctors and other health professionals, impacting on the improvement of health conditions in the country, working together with the State health entities.

Vision:
To continue being the leading society in cardiovascular medical education in Colombia and to generate an impact on Public Health of cardiovascular diseases, stimulating the active participation of its members.

What do they do:
• To promote the dissemination of cardiology disciplines and the progress of Cardiology, stimulating or promoting scientific research work, convening scientific meetings, organizing postgraduate courses and publishing in the Journal that will be the official dissemination body of the Society.
• Promote the study of medico-social problems that are related to the well-being of the heart patient.
• Ensure compliance with ethics in the practice of cardiology.
• Monitor and suggest the standards and requirements for the teaching and practice of Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery and Pediatric Cardiology, as well as continuing education in these and their Subspecialties and branches, to the competent bodies.
• Advise Public or Private Entities in everything concerning scientific technology, activities and development of cardiology.
• Inform the government authorities of any irregularity or fact that goes against the ethics or interest of cardiology and also assume the position when required of a safe and legal nature.
• To promote the scientific, social, academic and cultural well-being of its members. In developing the established objectives, the SCC may carry out, through its dignitaries, the legally and statutory authorized persons, all kinds of diligence to be fulfilled for this purpose.
