The Mexican College of Internal Medicine AC (CMIM) was founded as the Mexican Association of Internal Medicine (AMIM) AC in 1974 and remained as such for 28 years. It was established as a College in 2002 and remains so today.

It is made up of registered internists with current certification, which provides it with a solid structure and grants it prestige and recognition. It carries out activities aimed at promoting study, research, and continuing medical education in internal medicine and related sciences among physicians. Advances in these studies are collected, analyzed, and disseminated to update knowledge and establish cutting-edge medical criteria for healthcare professionals to properly practice their comprehensive medical practice, thus contributing to improved clinical outcomes for their patients.
