The COIMBATORE CANCER FOUNDATION [CCF] was conceived and established in March 1991 by late Padmabushan Shri. K. Sreenivasan, who himself was a cancer patient. Having been through the experience himself, he felt the need for emotional support and psycho-social care and rehabilitation for cancer patients and their families. Thus, CCF was born.

In his book, Cancer Made Me, Shri. K. Sreenivasan, writes – “After thinking it over for some time and discussing it with other people, I have come to the conclusion that guidance and counselling are essential for cancer patients from the very first day of diagnosis till a complete cure is achieved”. “I am convinced that counselling and group therapy would mitigate the mental agony of the patients and possibly increase the success rate in the treatment”.
