Chinese Society of Cardiology (CSC)

The Chinese Society of Cardiology (CSC) was founded in August 1978 in Taiyuan, and the board members were elected. Besides Wu Yingkai, the President, and Tao Shouqi, Huang Yuan, Fang Qi and Shi Meixin as the Vice-Presidents, there were in total 59 committee members in China (except Taiwan). Since then, local branches of CSC have been founded in many provinces all over China.

After more than 30 years development, CSC has become the most recognised cardiovascular association in China. The association has had eight different boards since its creation and each time the new board members made developments and improvements in both scientifically and organisationally in order to keep the society along with the pace of time. The details of developments and improvements are s follows:

With the first board after the society was founded, the society focused mainly on the foundation of regional branches in the provinces of China, and a network was created in order to facilitate the regional cooperation. At that time, many scientific activities were held in the larger regional areas. The first board of directors also launched the official journal of the society, Chinese Journal of Cardiology, which has now become the most recognised cardiovascular publication in China.
