The Chilean Society of Ophthalmology (SOCHIOF) is a non-profit professional association that brings together ophthalmologists nationwide, with nearly 700 members throughout Chile.

It was founded on October 21, 1931, as the successor to the Chilean Ophthalmological Society and is headquartered in the city of Santiago, where the National Board of Directors operates.

The Chilean Society of Ophthalmology creates, sponsors, and maintains publications, conferences, courses, awards for the best scientific works, scholarships, research grants, and other activities aimed at improving the training of members and students of Ophthalmology. One of its most important activities is the Ophthalmologist Training and Improvement Course (CFPO), which it has held for over 50 years.
