Children's Hospital Zurich / Kinderspital Zurich

The Children's Hospital is a non-profit private institution serving all children and adolescents regardless of gender, denomination and social origin. All employees of the hospital are committed to the dignity of every human being.

History:
It is thanks to the far-sighted gesture of a generous private citizen, Conrad Cramer, that the Eleonora Foundation was established in 1868. In memory of his deceased wife Maria Eleonora he donated to the city of Zurich the then significant sum of Fr. 50'000 for the construction of a children's hospital. From this developed the Eleonorenstiftung, which today is still the legal entity of the children's hospital.
