• Established in 1965, They (CCPA) were originally called the Canadian Guidance and Counselling Association (CGCA). They have been providing leadership and promotion to the counselling and psychotherapy professions ever since.
• They develop and cultivate formal and informal relationships with similar health and mental health organizations in Canada and internationally.

They are a national bilingual association that promotes the profession of counselling and psychotherapy and its contribution to the mental health and well-being of all Canadians.
