Berlin Simulation & Training Center (BeST)

Berlin, Berlin, Germany

The Berlin simulation and training center (BeST) comprises the three areas, the simulation center (BeST-SIM), the surgical-anatomical training center (BeST-CAT) and the meeting point for industry and clinics (BeST-TrIK), which complement each other closely.

The simulation of complex treatment processes as an instrument of qualification and competence acquisition in the health sector is becoming increasingly important. Simulation is an effective method for many areas, be it in the operational area of medical service providers and organizations or in the field of research and teaching (universities, colleges, educational institutions) to impart action and decision-making skills and thus improve patient safety and teamwork . Simulation and simulation training take place within an interdisciplinary, more precisely formulated, interprofessional framework that can be justified far beyond the field of medicine. What they all have in common is that in the learning scenarios, learning is not done on the patient, but rather the patient is replaced by suitable simulators.

Due to the combination of the training and the development area, training courses can be used for research, development and evaluation, thus leveraging previously unused synergies.
