The Austrian Diabetes Society sees it as its task to improve the health and quality of life of people with diabetes mellitus.

It is therefore committed to the concerns of those affected. It demands and promotes the constant improvement of care for people with diabetes mellitus. It supports research and disseminates scientific knowledge in all specialist areas related to diabetes, both to improve medical care and to prevent new illnesses in the best possible way.
