The Australian Private Hospitals Association (APHA) was formed in June 1981 as the peak national body representing private hospital interests in Australia.

The Australian Private Hospitals Association (APHA) is the peak industry body representing the private hospital and day surgery sector. About 70 percent of overnight hospitals and half of all day surgeries in Australia are APHA members.

APHA’s core purpose is to ensure the ongoing development of the private hospital industry.

APHA aims to make a contribution to Australia’s economic and social wellbeing by influencing the legislative and regulatory environment in a positive way, in the interests of our members and the health sector.
