Association for Academic Pathology (AAPath)

The Association's Council is excited to announce that the voting Chair members recently approved Bylaws changes that include renaming the organization to the Association for Academic Pathology, using the acronym AAPath. This issue was discussed at length by APC Council and Section Chairs, since last July, before the Bylaws changes were brought to a vote. Renaming the organization is a major step that was driven by these goals:
• to better represent who we are and what we do;
• to encourage broader membership and member engagement;
• to eliminate barriers to participation by aspiring and emerging leaders in academic pathology; and
• to attract more external partners for program development and advocacy.
