Asian Society of Thoracic Radiology (ASTR)

There have been discussions among the Asian Society leaders to establish a society to hold regular conference meetings that correspond to the Society of Thoracic Radiology and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging, representing North America and Europe, respectively. For this purpose, the Asian Society of Thoracic Radiology (ASTR) was established, and the first Asian Congress of Thoracic Radiology (ACTR) was held in June 2006, in Seoul, Korea. The regular meeting was proposed to be held every four years. From the third meeting, the name was revised to the Asian Congress of Thoracic Imaging (ACTI) after a consensus at an Executive Committee Business Meeting held at COEX, Seoul, in June 2013, during the World Congress of Thoracic Imaging.
