The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Internistische Onkologie in the Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft e. V. (AIO) was founded in 1976 and today counts about 1300 ordinary, extraordinary and supporting members who are volunteers in more than 20 working groups.
The AIO sees its most important tasks in the conduct of clinical trials and in the assurance and optimization of the quality of drug tumor therapy.
The AIO study (non-profit) GmbH was founded in 2007. It can be used as a legal sponsor (according to AMG) to conduct clinical trials of any study or workgroup. The staff of the AIO-Studien-gGmbH provide comprehensive and competent support in the design, implementation and quality assurance of clinical trials.
