APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists (CCN)

Objectives:
The College of Clinical Neuropsychologists operates at both a state and national Level.
National objectives:
• To advance the scientific study and professional practice of clinical neuropsychology; promoting and improving research in clinical neuropsychology; promoting high standards of professional ethics, competence and conduct, education, qualifications and achievement amongst clinical neuropsychologists; promoting the dissemination of knowledge and thought in clinical neuropsychology through meetings, lectures, professional contacts, reports, papers and discussions; advancing scientific interest and inquiry in clinical neuropsychology.
• To promote improvements in and alterations to the conditions and facilities available for the assessment, rehabilitation and on-going support of individuals with acquired brain impairment; to advise on the adequacy of the conditions and facilities available for the assessment, rehabilitation and on-going support of individuals with acquired brain impairment, and their families where applicable; and to propose such changes as are necessary to maintain and improve professional standards.
• To arrange, provide for, and/or participate in activities necessary for establishing conferences, national exhibitions, business and social meetings, lectures, classes and discussions on subjects of special interest to persons interested in clinical neuropsychology, and to encourage and support the education and continuing professional development of neuropsychologists.
• To serve as a medium for exploration and discussion of issues relevant to research and practice within the field of community psychology.
• To work collaboratively with other associations, organisations or community groups with similar interests.

State objectives:
Operating at a state level, the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists seeking to bring together neuropsychologists and endeavouring to serve as a source of information for local professionals as well as the wider community within each State interested in issues regarding neuropsychology.
