The Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development is a joint institute of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Vrije University (VU).
AIGHD performs three Core Functions:
• A platform for researchers to catalyze scientific excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and policy development within and across various faculties of the two Amsterdam universities
• A hub for education - at bachelors, masters and PhD level - across various faculties of the two Amsterdam universities
• A support facility aimed at integrated management of research and education projects within low- and middle-income countries focused on global health and development
Mission:
AIGHD address challenges in global health and development by conducting collaborative interdisciplinary and intersectoral research, generating insights and solutions, and educating the next generation of global health experts.
