The Association is recognized as a post-doctoral college of the American Osteopathic Association and involved in this training and study continuously since 1938.

The American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Regenerative Medicine, Inc. is dedicated toward improving the practice of, and disseminating knowledge about Prolotherapy.

Prolotherapy is the stimulation of the formation of fibrous connective tissue of the body, in a specific location by the specific application of a regenerative modality.

Mission:
The purpose of the American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Regenerative Medicine is to provide physician training in the basic science, research, clinical diagnosis and treatment for use in the performance of prolotherapy (also known as ligament and tendon constructive therapy) for treatment of pain syndromes, degenerative joint diseases, hypermobility syndromes, and musculoskeletal pain. It has also been used for varicose veins, hemmeroids and hernias.
