American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS)

Beverly, Massachusetts, United States of America

The American Association for Hand Surgery was founded in 1970 during a meeting of the Joseph L. Posch Hand Society out of a need for an inclusive forum for hand surgeons. Since that meeting, the AAHS has grown to represent a diverse but cohesive mix of over 1,500 professionals which make up the entire hand care team including orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, general surgeons, microsurgeons, hand therapists, nurses, advanced practice providers, and basic scientists. The Hand Association is committed to a shared leadership structure among surgeons, hand therapists, and advanced practice providers as well as integrated programming among these specialties. AAHS is an inclusive organization that welcomes and provides a scientific forum for all individuals who provide hand and upper extremity care.

Mission:
The mission of the Hand Association is to work together to advance global hand care and education.
