All India Association for Advancing Research in Obesity ( AI AARO) earlier know as ( Advancing Research in Obesity – AARO) . was formed on 1st November 2000.
Dr Vinod Dhurandhar had this noble idea of forming an organization for Obesity Practitioners and to see that quackery is not encouraged in this field. He expressed these views to his son Dr Nikhil Dhurandhar based in the USA.

Dr Rajesh Parekh on the pretext of Dr Vinod Dhurandhar called up few Obesity Practitioners who were in this field for almost 15 years and the first meeting took place on 17th October 2000 at Dr Vinod Dhurandhars residence at Nani Nivas , Opp Natural ice cream , Dixit Road, Vile Parle(E) , Mumbai . 400057.
