Ada County Medical Society was founded in 1960 as a component society of the Idaho Medical Association and focused on serving physicians. since then, Their membership has grown to over 2700 physicians, PAs, NPs, medical residents, and students.
The purpose of The Society is to advance the well-being of its members through the promotion of health, education, community, and civic engagement.
They are relationally focused and hold multiple events during the year to help network members with each other and resources to help them in their practice of medicine. Their online portal provides a means of members connecting directly with each other over hobbies, creative pursuits, mentoring relationships, specialty interests, and more.
For the past several years, ACMS has become the leader in Idaho in the advancement of clinician well-being. Their Physician Vitality Program is a model for many others throughout the nation, providing confidential, cost-free, and competent access to mental health therapists as a membership benefit.
