Established in 1971 to improve patient care in Idaho's Treasure Valley through the provision of continuing medical education for physicians.

ACMEC is an accredited continuing medical education organization. It was established in Boise, Idaho, in 1971, by its three original cosponsors: Ada County Medical Society, St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, and St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. The Consortium's purpose is to provide planned CME activities to meet the medical information needs of the physicians of Southwest Idaho.

ACMEC provides Category I and programming, and is a fully accredited provider for CME within the geographical border of the State of Idaho, and contiguous states. ACMEC provides approximately 1000 hours of physician education annually recording 14,000 individual hours of credit to physicians annually.
