Academy for Private Dental Practice (APDP)

Academy for Private Dental Practice (APDP)

Academy for Private Dental Practice was founded in the 1950s by a group of forward-thinking dentists who sought to improve the field of dentistry.

The organization held its first meeting in Chicago in 1957, and over the next 30 years, it played a key role in introducing new ideas and practices to the field, including innovations in office design and the use of auxiliary personnel. The Academy also focused on patient communication and the business side of dental practices, and it established a strong relationship with dental schools to promote the teaching of practice administration.
