cademiaPharma was created because it has never been more important for academics, industry thought leaders and funding bodies to collaborate and build partnerships. We perceived that there is a distinct lack of opportunity for these groups to meet formally to discuss collaborations and potential obstacles. This annual event was created in order to bring together interested parties and major players in order to refine strategies and to work towards building bridges between academia and pharma/biotech.

Academic institutions have always been at the forefront of innovation. Big pharma are facing major patent cliffs and slashing internal R&D budgets whilst academia is finding it tougher to gain funding for research projects. This means that it is more important than ever for the two groups to establish meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships.
