Wound Care Review Course is organized by WebCME Inc. and will be held from Jan 15, 2015 - Jan 31, 2019. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 20.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, fellows, mid-level practitioners, nurses and other allied health professionals who are involved in the care of patients with acute and chronic wounds. This course is appropriate for both entry level novice practitioners as well as for experienced clinicians who want to review basic wound care concepts and best practice standards. Additionally, this course is intended to meet the educational needs of professionals who see wound care patients in a variety of care settings including: hospital based clinic, outpatient clinic, office based practice, inpatient service, home care, urgent care clinic, or emergency department.

Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
• Know the physiology of wound healing.
• Explain wound classification by etiology and characteristics.
• Identify general diagnostics related to the management of nonhealing wounds.
• Discuss nutrition related to wound healing.
• Identify and discuss the basic management of pressure ulcers and deep tissue injury, diabetic, surgical and vascular ulcers.
• Describe pain parameters and pain management strategies related to wound care.
• Identify and recognize wound infections and describe the management of an infected wound.
• Discuss adjunctive and advanced wound care therapies.
