Overview:
Type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is the most common form of diabetes, and accounts for more than 90% of patients who present with diabetes. A significant portion of the population remain undiagnosed and potentially represent potential complications in patients presenting for both in-office and hospital based oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures. The management of T2DM has changed in recent years with the addition of multiple oral and injectable non-insulin medications.
