Description:
The Virginia Pharmacy Law Review course is developed by VCU School of Pharmacy faculty and pharmacy law adjunct faculty members. It is peer-reviewed by practicing pharmacists in Virginia - a course created by pharmacists for pharmacists! This course is designed to help participants prepare for the Virginia Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® (MPJE®) through five interactive modules.

The modules will review:

People and Places
Prescriptions
Dispensing
Inventory and Records
Practice Beyond Traditional Pharmacy

Each module contains self-assessment knowledge questions, video lectures, and pharmacy practice examples. It is designed to be a self-study tool for the Virginia MPJE that organizes the material in one location. Depending on your learning style, this course may take more or less time. We anticipate the average user will take 8-10 hours to complete this course, including time to fill out the study guide and take assessments.

In lieu of providing participants with the slides for each video presentation, a study guide has been created as one document. Participants are encouraged to fill out the study guide handout as they watch the video presentations. This study guide aims to help participants engage with the material through active learning and provide a comprehensive study guide upon completing the CE course.

The target audience for this course is pharmacists seeking to become licensed in Virginia, including recent Doctor of Pharmacy graduates and pharmacists moving to Virginia from another jurisdiction. This course assumes that the participant already understands federal pharmacy law. This course is not endorsed by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy or the Virginia Board of Pharmacy and does not guarantee a passing score on the MPJE. This course is for educational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. There are no refunds for this course.

Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:

Describe the foundational elements and regulatory requirements of pharmacy practice within the state of Virginia.
Organize Virginia pharmacy laws and regulations into subsets related to pharmacy practice procedures.
Create a study guide to prepare for an exam focused on Virginia pharmacy laws and regulations.
