Description:
This course provides physicians with an overview of the core-needle biopsy process to be better able to explain to patients what to expect and explain the available validated methods for this method of biopsy.
Objectives:
• Review the options and the patient selection process.
• Consider available, validated methods for CNB: stereotactic, tomogram, ultrasound and MRI-guided.
• Review the importance of radiologic-pathologic concordance.
• Designate the appropriate follow-up and disposition of the patient based on radiology-pathology results.
