OVERVIEW
Understanding the Vestibular System to Improve Balance and Reduce Falls in Older Adults, Part 2 Course for Physical Therapist is organized by ContinuingEducation.com - OnCourse Learning Corporation and will be held during Oct 17, 2011 - Nov 16, 2019. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.00 Hours
Course Description :
Ambulating, climbing stairs, and performing activities of daily living require good balance control and coordination among the body systems. Deterioration of these systems affects balance and increases the likelihood of falls. Fall risk assessment tools can assist therapists in determining appropriate therapeutic interventions, allow healthcare providers to monitor meaningful balance changes, and improve reimbursement by allowing practitioners to document objective balance findings consistently.
Course Objectives :
The goal of this vestibular system continuing education program is to improve physical therapists’ knowledge about vestibular dysfunction and balance retraining with older adults. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
• Understand balance, fall, and dizziness assessment tools, and fall prevention guidelines for
the older adult
• Recall vestibular-specific assessments and evidence-based interventions
• Describe appropriate evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve balance and
decrease the risk of patient falls
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
