OVERVIEW

Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia : Upper Extremities is organized by Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute (GUI) Inc and will be held during May 14, 2017 - May 14, 2018.

The target audience for this medical event is Sonographers, Physicians, Nurse practitioners, PA's or other medical professional performing and/or interpreting ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia procedures. Physician participants may include,(but is not limited to): anesthesiologists, CRNA's and emergency physicians. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description:
This ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia enduring material is planned in accordance with the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management (ASRA) guidelines and ACEP ultrasound guidelines for core (procedural) applications. The video presentation incorporates live lectures that combine animations and video case studies, for a comprehensive discussion of ultrasound-guided upper extremity regional anesthesia procedures.

• Upper extremity nerve blocks:
• Interscalene: single injection and continuous interscalene catheter
• Supraclavicular approach
• Infraclavicular approach: Single injections and catheter Techniques
• Axillary plexus blocks
• Musculocutaneous blocks
• Forearm: Median, Radial and Ulnar nerve blocks
• Live demonstration

Conference Objectives are :
• Increase the participants’ knowledge and competence to perform Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia procedures.
• Identify and distinguish the topographic and cross-sectional brachial plexus anatomy.
• Demonstrate imaging techniques for performing ultrasound-guided upper extremities regional anesthesia nerve blocks.
• Increase competence to incorporate protocols, scan techniques, and interpretation criteria to integrate the skills learned into clinical practice.
