Course Description:
This activity will identify different contributors of inflammation in the CKD population as well as focusing on nutrition interventions to address these contributing factors. This activity will also address different to ways to incorporate anti-inflammatory foods into the renal diet by getting away from the traditional renal diet.

In support of improving patient care, the National Kidney Foundation is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), and the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Physician:
The National Kidney Foundation designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nurse Practitioner, Nurse and Dialysis Technician:
Awarded 1.5 contact hours of continuing nursing education
Physician Assistant:
Enduring: National Kidney Foundation has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until September 7, 2025. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
Dietitian:
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the National Kidney Foundation is approved to offer dietitian continuing education by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Dietitians completing this course receive 1.5 enduring continuing education credits.
Social Worker:
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the National Kidney Foundation is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. The National Kidney Foundation maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 enduring continuing education credits.
Licensed social workers should contact their individual jurisdiction to review current continuing education requirements for licensure renewal.
