Course Description:
This course will focus on conditions and disorders that impact the pediatric pulmonary system. It is vital to understand typical pulmonary development prior to t;he start of this course. Material will begin with diagnostic tests and measures and move into commonly seen pediatric pulmonary conditions. Conditions will be discussed based on age range from infant to adolescent. Emphasis will then be given to pulmonary equipment, including oxygen devices commonly seen in various practice settings in pediatrics, and medications and implications for physical therapy plan of care will be analyzed. The course will end with appropriate development of interventions for this population.

Learning Objectives:
• Interpret cardiovascular diagnostic testing results to determine appropriate plan of care
• Differentiate among commonly seen pulmonary conditions in the pediatric population
• Distinguish how various pulmonary equipment can impact a physical therapy plan of care
• Analyze how commonly seen pulmonary medication can alter a physical therapy plan of care
• Create interventions for pediatric patients/clients with a pulmonary condition
