Description:
The Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecologic Emergencies eModule, developed in association with the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, reviews how patients who present to the emergency department have different presenting symptoms, diagnoses, and admission needs than adult patients.
By the end of this activity, participants will be able to identify:
- Methods of evaluation and management for adolescents
- Effective communication and awareness as to when patients may need referrals
- When the patient may benefit from a pediatric admission versus admission to an adult service
