Description:
Tiffany is a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, a Respecting Choices Advance Care Planning Instructor, an APPEAL certificate recipient, and the creator of her own Train the Trainer workshop series entitled “Finding Your Voice in the Healthcare Maze.” The purpose of this session is to enable the pediatric nurses to incorporate the family as contributing members of the patient care team.

Christensen is a nationally recognized public speaker and the author of three books exploring advocacy, end-of-life planning, and partnership strategies in healthcare. Tiffany is a board member of the Beryl Institute for improving the patient experience, a Board of Trustee Member for the North Caroline Quality and Safety Center, and faculty for the Patient Safety Officer Training at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Cambridge, Mass.

• Define terms frequently associated with patient-centered care.
• Describe TeamSTEPPS.
• List three TeamSTEPPS tools used to incorporate patients and families into the team.
