Overview:
The Marion County Public Health Department Special ECHO will be a 3-session lunch and learn series designed for medical professionals and first responders to break down stigma for individuals with substance use disorder (SUD). Each interactive session includes a presentation by experts in the field and opportunities to source questions with leaders in SUD treatment, prevention, and screening.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Summarize what stigma is and the three main forms of stigma faced by people who use substances in health settings.
• Identify how stigma impacts the care people living with substance use disorder receive and their overall health.
• Describe the role and services of a peer recovery specialist.
• Develop and implement strategies to prevent bias and unintended harms towards people living with substance use concerns and co-occurring conditions.
