This accredited activity has been designed for pharmacists.

Goal:
To educate pharmacists in a variety of practice settings on the role of subcutaneous immunoglobulin, including uses, dosing and administration strategies, and advantages and disadvantages compared to conventional intravenous immunoglobulin.

Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
• Recognize uses for subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIG) therapy.
• Summarize safety data for use of SCIG in special populations.
• Summarize comparative efficacy and safety data for the use of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and SCIG in patients with primary immunodeficiency.
• Identify advantages and disadvantages of SCIG compared with IVIG.
• Identify advantages and disadvantages of self-administration of SCIG.
• Compare and contrast the pharmacokinetics of IVIG and SCIG.
• Describe hyaluronidase-facilitated SCIG administration.
• Describe rapid-push SCIG administration.
