Description:
This self-paced, online course will explore secondary trauma and how working with or around those with primary trauma can impact your own functioning. The first half will focus on helping you gain awareness of the symptoms, self-assess to determine if you are at risk or currently symptomatic, and how to notice this in a coworker or supervisee. The second half will help you create a plan to address any symptoms you may be experiencing and learn skills to increase your resilience while working with trauma survivors.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Attendees will learn to understand and identify the symptoms of secondary trauma in themselves and others.
  • Attendees will learn to regularly self-assess their overall functionality personally and professionally.
  • Attendees will learn many ways to increase self-care to improve their functioning.
