Hypertension is widely encountered in the clinical setting. This lecture is designed to familiarize physicians with the evaluation and management of resistant hypertension by outlining the most recent evidence-based treatment options.

• Define resistant hypertension and recognize the consequences when hypertension is not properly managed.
• Recognize when to apply the most appropriate approach for hypertension when traditional therapy fails.
