Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in Primary Care : Guideline-based Strategies for Improved Recognition, Diagnosis and Treatment is organized by Pri-Med and will be held during Jul 31, 2017 - Jul 31, 2018. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 0.52 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Overview :
Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) has many unique causes, and can lead to significant consequences if not identified early and treated appropriately. This case will help you recognize possible cases of PAH and apply appropriate diagnostic tests to facilitate treatment before PAH progression. In addition, the application of guidelines for treatment initiation and monitoring of PAH patients will be outlined. Finally, the importance of referral to and collaboration with a high-volume center with expertise in PAH will be stressed.
Learning Objectives :
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of PAH and better utilize guideline-based algorithms and tools to diagnose, stage, and set treatment goals for each patient
• Select, administer, and sequence pharmacologic therapies, and monitor disease progression, side effects, and comorbidities in patients with PAH, in accordance with evolving consensus guidelines and recommended treatment algorithms
• Appropriately refer patients with PAH for advanced care and engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with PAH
