This course features 4 sessions designed to update primary care clinicians on hypertension, presented in a practical and patient-focused manner relevant to the primary care setting. It reviews the clinical presentation, diagnostic tests, and management strategies related to hypertension so that participants can apply these important clinical principles back to their everyday practice to improve the care of their patients. Topics include: New Guidelines, Measuring Blood Pressure, and Hypertension in the Elderly.

• Session 2 (42 minutes) - The Resistant Hypertension Guidelines: What’s New
• Session 3 (53 minutes) - The Importance of Measuring BP Both In and Out of the Office
• Session 4 (41 minutes) - Hypertension in the Elderly: The Importance of Shared Decision Making

Primary Care On Demand: Hypertension will educate and promote improved patient outcomes for dermatology related issues commonly encountered in internal medicine and family medicine practice. This CME course will highlight the latest science related to hypertension, presented in a practical and patient-focused manner relevant to the primary care setting. It reviews the clinical presentation, diagnostic tests, and management strategies related to hypertension so that participants can apply these important clinical principles back to their everyday practice to improve the care of their patients.

Presented by Continuing Education Company (CEC) for the past 26 years, our Primary Care CME Conference Series is designed to update primary care clinicians in rapidly changing therapeutic areas. This CME activity, Primary Care On Demand: Hypertension is comprised of recorded video lectures taken from various live Primary Care conferences presented by CEC in 2018.

Learning Objectives:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Formulate an efficient and effective assessment and monitoring plan of a patient’s condition as it relates to hypertension.
• Develop individualized interventions and treatment strategies for patients presenting with hypertension that will lead to the reduction of modifiable risk factors and improved long term outcomes.
