This two-hour course, presented in a familiar news show format, is divided into brief, schedule-friendly episodes -- and features interactive videos and gamification to enrich the learning experience. It explains the behaviors that are expected of individuals to create a workplace that is free of discrimination and harassment, discusses the responsibilities of supervisory employees, and examines several other relevant and timely harassment-related topics. This course was designed to comply with state requirements for supervisory-employee training.

Objectives:

• Understand the nature of sexual harassment, discrimination and harassment, and retaliation
• Be familiar with the types of behaviors that are inappropriate in the workplace
• Know what to do if they experience misconduct
• Be aware of the consequences of misconduct
• Understand the role of active bystanders and the methods of bystander intervention
• Know the behaviors necessary for creating a respectful workplace
• Be aware of the special responsibilities of managers
• Know how to respond to complaints properly
• Understand the duty of managers to prevent retaliation
• Be familiar with protections provided by California laws
