This CME/CE course offers a deep dive into the integration of predictive technologies into epilepsy care, focusing on the value of objective data over traditional self-reported seizure logs and the emerging role of wearables and implantable devices in modern neurology.

Participants will begin by understanding the inherent limitations of conventional seizure burden assessments, which often rely on patient-reported events. These logs can be inconsistent due to recall bias, nocturnal seizures, or seizures with impaired awareness. The course introduces the concept of data-driven monitoring and explores how continuous tracking can lead to more accurate assessments of treatment efficacy.

The curriculum highlights a range of FDA-cleared and investigational devices, including wrist-worn sensors, EEG headbands, subcutaneous implants, and smartphone-integrated monitoring systems.
