Polypharmacy: Understanding Interactions, Adverse Reactions, and Deprescribing is organized by Nurse Practitioner Associates for Continuing Education (NPACE).

Description:
Sixty six percent of all adults in US are in at least one medication. Many of our patients are on multiple medication, and often by multiple providers. As patients age, there are higher risks of drug drug interactions and side effects. This session will focus on medications to monitor and mitigate risks. We will look at common interactions, adverse reactions and how to deprescribe and when.

Learning Objectives:
After taking part in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Identify the most common drug/drug interactions
  • Describe Impact of polypharmacy
  • List ways to deprescribe and when it is appropriate

NPACE designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.50 contact hours, of which 1.50 is pharmacology credit. Participants should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
