Description :
This course reviews the treatment guidelines for children with the most common benign and malignant tumors of childhood, with a focus on radiotherapy. Indications for radiotherapy are discussed, in addition to radiotherapy planning guidelines. Clinical outcomes including disease control and toxicity are examined.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
• Formulate treatment recommendations for common pediatric tumors.
• Develop radiation treatment plans using appropriate dose, volume, and planning parameters.
• Recognize the potential acute and late toxicity associated with radiotherapy in the pediatric population.
