Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Recertification Course is organized by Advanced Medical Certification (AMC).
Description:
The goal of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is to save a life. For a child or infant experiencing serious injury or illness, your action can be the difference between life and death. PALS is a series of protocols to guide responses to life-threatening clinical events. These responses are designed to be simple enough to be committed to memory and recalled under moments of stress. PALS guidelines have been developed from a thorough review of available protocols, patient case studies, and clinical research; and they reflect the consensus opinion of experts in the field. The gold standard in the United States and many other countries in the course curriculum published by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). Approximately every five years the ILCOR updates the guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). This handbook is based on the most recent ILCOR publication of PALS and will periodically compare the previous and the new recommendations for a more comprehensive review.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support:
What does the PALS Recertification Course Include?
Pediatric Advanced Life Support is a systematic approach to pediatric assessment that goes beyond basic life support for infants and children. PALS certification, as defined by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), is the development of the necessary knowledge and skills to manage critically ill infants and children in emergencies, resulting in improved outcomes. The specialized training is designed for any health care provider responsible for responding to pediatric emergencies. This includes emergency responders, ER personnel, pediatric care providers, ICU staff, critical care professionals, EMTs, and first aid responders.
Our PALS online recertification is just as thorough, reliable, and accepted as traditional classroom certification. Upon successful participation and course completion, students receive their e-card as proof of certification.
All courses are designed by Board-Certified Physicians, adhere to the latest ILCOR Standards and Guidelines, and are Joint Commission (JCAHO) compliant. All courses meet the same guidelines and standards as the ECC/ILCOR and OSHA.
